Randy Patton

Life’s funny sometimes. Randy Patton, a 55 year old artist, was pressured by financial concerns, his father and the gallery owner who represented him into creating southwestern art even though his heart was never in it.

Randy began his professional career as an artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. He has won several juried art awards during his 22 year career.

Randy has spent the last several years, and every financial resource he had, to ensure the care and well being of his mother, who was in a nursing home until she recently passed away at the age of 91.

In addition to taking care of his mother, he has also had to deal with an affliction called hyperacusis. This is an extreme sensitivity to everyday sounds like that of planes flying overhead, traffic noise and even the inability to enjoy a simple meal at a restaurant because the sounds are unbearable.

In spite of his affliction and free of family responsibilities, Randy turned his attention and talent to something he is passionate about. Taking Anime into the world of fine art.
